About Me
I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (#145436) with an MA in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University. I am currently under the supervision of Jon Tatelman, LMFT #124538.
Los Angeles is my birthplace and lifelong home. I come from a family of writers, performers, and artists, who used creative expression as a way to metabolize pain and make their interior visible. I view this as a wildly generous act; one which has deeply touched my work and worldview.
I find people endlessly interesting. As a child, I cared little for supernatural creatures or fantasy, preferring books and movies about humans entangled in complex relationships (I proudly consider the Gossip Girl novels part of my personal canon). My interests in identity formation, belonging, and meaning-making led me to pursue undergraduate studies in anthropology at Reed College, an irreverent environment that nurtured my trickster spirit.
Prior to becoming a therapist, I was a touring bassist and vocalist for a number of projects, and supported my work by waitressing and bartending. My music background has afforded me a rich understanding of the particular challenges many artists face, namely finding their creative processes hampered by prevailing notions of success. I am passionate about helping creative people advocate for and be of service to their art, recognizing that this can take many forms.
While I welcome any client seeking a therapist with a warm, participatory, and occasionally irreverent style, I have particular interest in experiences of burnout, anxiety, high achieving, religious abuse, and sexual abuse. I would be honored to help you reauthor the stories that have kept you confined, ushering in your expansion and liberation.
